What’s up with the olives is this a thing? I’m super white and grew up Awesome Taco Dirty To Me Sunset Black Vintage Shirt in small-town Ohio, I’ve definitely seen olives on tacos multiple times. I have never seen an olive on any sort of Mexican dish I have had and I also worked at a Mexican restaurant for a bit no olives on any of the plates. You’d have to go to the bar to find olives. I’ve never had olives on arroz con pollo or any Mexican dish for that matter. I’ve lived in Texas, Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina. The only change I have seen is in the queso, and that’s just from the different types of cheese or spices used. I’m wondering if olives are just a regional thing. I could see the Veracruz style dishes having olives since the main settlers there were from Spain.
