I dislike horror because of that. Loud scream!! Ahhh you made my heart skip a Good Just A Disney Girl Who Loves Horror Movies Shirt beat and made me slightly jolt, someone, save me. But there’s shit out there that gets me. Lee Hardcastle’s “Curtains” genuinely put me in fight or flight, I had to take a breather after that video because it had been a while since I had adrenaline running through me like that. Hollywood is rife with that weakly constructed formulaic garbage, don’t consider it good horror. That’s the dribble that gets forgotten by the years. There’s really great horror coming out that doesn’t get talked about enough but those are worth seeing.

I wasn’t talking about the music, I agree gold music can make a scene way better but I mean those sounds you hear right before it jump scares you. One of the things I loathed about It: Chapter 2 was the overuse of jump scares. You always knew they were coming, and then they were always accompanied by a loud noise, making the “scare” feel cheap and unearned.
