Since age of triumph, they changed the mechanic. I mean, it seems cheesy but you are doing the mechanics so, it’s right on the line I’d say. Pretty sure they removed the ability to do that and updated it when the Age of Triumph came out though.

You can still do it on the warlock. You have to kill 6 gatekeepers to Premium You Can’t Scare Me I’m Sleeping With The Dungeon Master Shirt advance the encounter so you go across but stay on the bridge (so you respawn on the first side), kill the gatekeeper, wipe, self-res, repeat. At all the difficulties now. When they updated the raid, they changed the map itself, which all versions use. So even if you run the y1 versions the bridge encounter is the updated version. Haha, it took me longer to learn how to solo Shattered Throne than Crota’s End. Although I did do that back in the days of easy cheese.
