I will agree that is his best song. But I will also George Strait 45th Anniversary 1975 2020 Signature Thank You For The Memories Shirt state that compared to the good bluesy country out there today (Sturgill Simpson and Chris Stapleton) and the folksy country out there today (Childers and Bingham), I don’t like Strait anymore. It has its place. Personally I like the slow jams and bluegrass, and Stapleton is up to my alley. I don’t listen to many countries these days but it was a big part of my childhood. I really dig Allison Krauss and Union Station too. But these days country music doesn’t hit my playlist hardly at all unless I need a good cry. A lot of country singers served in the military/armed forces in some capacity, not all of course but more than one would think. IIRC Toby Keith was in the military too.
