Restaurants are in for a tough ride. In the article, they talk about running at Good Two Metres, Cunt Shirt a restaurant 50% capacity. With social distancing, 50% capacity could be generous. I can’t even count the number of times I go to a grocery store and wait my turn behind someone while it’s my turn to go people start to walk then stand beside me to grab what they want and linger. People have to take orders, bring food, cook food, take payments, clear tables and so on. If that means no restaurants can be open then so be it but there’s no point in pretending that those businesses can actually operate under social distancing rules. It’s not feasible.

Maybe with the heaters out and maybe with the lack of indoor options that makes sense? In the coffee shop I worked at, which served a lot of doctors, we had 2 entrances/exits, so theoretically you could have a Good Two Metres, Cunt Shirt one-way flow of customers, but the line of customers during the morning rush was always long and packed in.
