I had a Subaru from around that time. It has the issue where the gas gauge stops working. had to Pretty Don’t Be A Racist Piece Of Shit Shirt have that fixed 2-3 times. Thank you so much for all this info!! I’m thinking about getting a Subaru but hopefully plan to do some long-distance driving with it as well. Is it crazy to be looking at a car that over 100k miles if I plan on doing so?? Crazy? No, absolutely not. 100k miles is nothing. I don’t think I’ve ever bought a car with under 100k miles actually. Just make sure you pick something with a good maintenance history taking into consideration the common problems they’re known for, which depends on the exact year and model.

That’s really great to know, thank you! I appreciate your help!! For what it’s worth my 07 Subaru Impreza (G naturally aspirated 2L) is pushing 350,000 km. The only thing that has died was the alternator at Pretty Don’t Be A Racist Piece Of Shit Shirt about 200k. Bought a cheapie off a wrecker and swapped it. Honestly, the gas mileage of the E-series motors is pretty bad. The F-series is quite a lot better, but still not great. If I wanted a cheap car to crank out big miles in, Prius or Insight all the way.

If we are asking you about Subarus, what do you think of the 07 outback? Mine is Pretty Don’t Be A Racist Piece Of Shit Shirt over 180k miles and does have her issues periodically (just had to replace the radiator), but is still solid overall. I believe that’s when they changed the head gasket design so it’s no longer an issue. Oil consumption however I believe is still an issue so make sure to check it frequently. Other than that I’m somewhat less familiar with that generation. I do know they’re supposed to be considerably improved.
